Be able to check yourself at 17. i went into the healthpoint today to see if i can get checked for any STD. asked my mother if i could get the insurance card. i go in and they tell me i cant do it unless im 18 or with a parent. if 17 year olds are considered as adults, we might as well be one right? so why can i not go in by myself with my parents insurance card and MY ID. if i wanted to keep it to myself how am i gonna get checked? if i had something it would be passed on. so i, a 17 year old male along with the other millions SHOULD have to right to go in ourselves, like ADULTS and take care of the problem. its an outrage and i think im talking for any 17 year old that is sexually active and wants to know if they have a disease of any sort and doesnt want anyone to know.
